Well, the Tri-State Fair wasn't on the weekend we thought it was. When I looked at the website (about three weeks before the show) the rabbit show was listed as being on the 20th. I thought this was just a typo since the Saturday was the 19th. I should have called. Always call if you think the date might be wrong. I didn't call and even through all of the communication with the fair people, no one ever said that the rabbit show was actually the next weekend. We met a roper who was told the team roping was the same weekend as well. He showed up with his horses and no roping. I guess the person who told him that was looking at the same website as I was! It was last year's schedule. So, we spend a lovely weekend in Amarillo with 27 rabbits in our hotel room. BUT the Eastern New Mexico State Fair starts on Monday, October 5th. The 4H rabbit show is on this day too. Unfortunately, there is no open show. I would still encourage anyone interested in raising, showing or just having a rabbit as a pet to come out and look at the wide variety of rabbits displayed at the fair. We normally have lots of rabbis entered.
Since it's a youth show, we won't have any rabbits entered in the fair (although we do have a kids that show rabbits that they have purchased from us). We do have rabbits for sale, though, and can make arrangements for you to come and look at the animals. I will be in the barn at different times during the day, mostly in the evenings. Please stop by and say hi.
Take a look at the rabbits we have for sale on our For Sale page!
